I was born in Warrington, Cheshire, in 1988, and spent most of my childhood dreaming of ways to escape the struggles of the real world. I discovered early on that through reading I could find a route to the otherworldly plane of stories, fables, myths and legends. From this, grew a passion for Science Fiction and High Fantasy literature, which provided epic sagas full of limitless possibilities for escape.

It was that sense of escapism which I found oddly intoxicating. No matter how bad things were in the real world, nothing could hurt me in these made up places. They were worlds of safety, where I could learn to understand myself and to some extent how to survive. It’s no jovial remark when I say, that there are a few authors that I owe my life too, and it’s unlikely that they’ll ever fully appreciate the impact their writing had. Maybe one day I’ll meet a few of them and let them know…

For now, I’m content to spend my time taking photographs and more importantly, writing, to provide that same sense of escape for others.
